Meet Our Members: Cheryl from The Life of LilMisBusy

Let’s meet Cheryl from The Life of LilMisBusy.

What do you write about?

The Life of LilMisBusy is the story of my life and that of my family. LilMisBusy is an old AOL screen name, and the name I was using when I met my husband back in 1999. My friends in college had given me a copy of the Little Miss Busy book, and well, it resonated. It seems life never really slows down much, and I’m trying to capture some of the details about our lives before they’ve been forgotten. So everything from jam-packed weekends to vacations to coping with chronic medical issues gets covered there.

Where do you live?

Newton, Massachusetts

How long have you been blogging?

I started blogging in March 2007, anonymously at first. I had Mr. Bee (my husband) and BusyBee (my daughter) and BabyBee (my son), but after I began posting my blog on facebook, I started using our names. I’m excited to hit 5 years of blogging in the next few months!

Do you have a favorite blog post of your own?

http://lilmisbusy.blogspot.com/2011/10/34-new-diagnosis.html

What are two or three of your favorite blogs to read?

I keep a LOT of blogs in my Google Reader, and I make a real effort to read almost every post. I read many other Boston Parent Bloggers, but my favorite is The Mama Bird Diaries.

What inspired you to start a blog?

I’m obsessed with people’s stories. I love knowing all of the details that go into living a life, both the bad and the good. After years of reading about other people, I decided it wasn’t fair to not share my own story too.

How many children do you have?

2, ages 8 and 4.

Why did you join Boston Parent Bloggers?

I am hoping to meet others like myself in the area. I find that people willing to share their lives in this medium and others like Twitter (@cherylstober) are generally people I can get along well with. The events might interest me, but I’m not looking to do work with brands or monetize, since I work full time and this is more of a hobby for me. But I would love to connect with more readers and follow them back as well.

What are some of your favorite blogging platforms, plugins and/or tools?

I don’t have any! I use Blogger. I care more about the content than the packaging at this point, but maybe that will change some day.
